John Shadle

I was originally licensed as KG4CHP after passing my Element 2 and 3A exams on February 20, 1999 in Smithfield, NC. I passed element 1A (5 wpm code) and 3B on April 10, 1999 in Hillsborough, NC to upgrade to Technician Plus.

I changed my call to W4PAH on February 3, 2004 to represent my hometown, Paducah, KY, whose three-letter airport code is PAH.

After the 13 and 20 WPM code requirements (elements 1B and 1C) were dropped, I took Element 3 again on February 14, 2004 to upgrade to General and then gained Extra after passing the Element 4 exam on June 12, 2004, both in Hillsborough, NC.
